We welcome the string players from the Juneau Alaska Music Matters (JAMM) programs at Riverbend and Glacier Valley Elementary Schools as our guest musicians this morning. JAMM provides early access to music instruction for many students in Juneau elementary schools. JAMM is a recipient of a grant from our church’s Ruth Dae and Louis Eugene Anderson Endowment Fund for children’s music education.

Annual Bazaar news…..Pre-order SERRV items now: Today is the last day to scan the SERRV catalog and place your order for pre-Christmas delivery. Look for the SERRV table with catalogs and order forms in the fellowship hall after the Sunday service.

Thanksgiving at the Methodist Camp…..Come join us for a wonderful community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Eagle River Methodist Camp on Thanksgiving Day. Bring a dish to share if you can. They’ll be plenty of delicious food! Enjoy a roaring fire, play games with friends, go for a walk at the camp or a walk to the beach, maybe even see whales! The lodge will be open by 10 a.m. and we’ll start serving Thanksgiving Dinner about 1:30 p.m. The camp is located on Glacier Highway at Mile 28, just before Eagle Beach State Park. If you need a ride, call Jane McMillan Ginter at 907 209-8185 or ginteralaska@gmail.com.

This year’s Stewardship Campaign begins next week and runs through Nov. 23. The theme is CELEBRATE! Pledge cards will be sent to all on our mailing list and available in the church beginning around Nov. 9. On Nov. 23, during worship, they will be collected. The pledge cards will also be gladly received before or after then – at worship; in the church office; or by mail (400 West 11th Street, Juneau 99801); or email (nluc@ak.net).

It’s Operation Christmas Child (OCC) time of year once again. This is your opportunity to fill shoe boxes with age appropriate toys, school supplies, candy, hygiene items… The Samaritan’s Purse organization will see that the boxes are given to children throughout the world who live in orphanages, displacement camps, refugee camps or other areas of great need. This may be the only gift a child will receive. In addition to the gift box, each child also receives a booklet written in their local language called the Greatest Gift, introducing them to the Gospel message. After the local distribution event, where appropriate, children will be invited to participate in The Greatest Journey, a 12 lesson discipleship program. For more information contact Karen or Olga Lipson at the OCC table in the fellowship hall after the service or go online to samaritanspurse.org/occ. Karen or Olga can set you up with an empty box and information on what can and cannot be included in the boxes. Filled boxes can be delivered to NLUC through Nov.16th. Last year NLUC donated 41 OCC boxes. Let’s strive for 50 boxes this year. We can make this goal with your help.

The Church Council has tuned the results of the January Visioning Session into goals and actions for the next three years. The work plan has a column for you to indicate your interest in helping with a given program or activity as well a place for your comments.
