Youth Corner, January, 2014

Published January 10, 2014 by ChristinaMaddox in Newsletter Articles, Youth ministry

Happy New Year, everyone! I can’t believe that it is 2014 ~ I will be 26 this year!
The DNA youth group has been very busy extending their hearts beyond the walls of our churches to hungry people in our communities, to children in the activity room at the Douglas Holiday Bazaar, and to the elderly folks at Juneau Pioneers Home by sending Christmas cards. These young people are filled with so much laughter and love! I invite you all to get to know them…it’s so worth it!
This “Youth Corner” is short, but I just wanted to ask in this article: With this new year, what is new in your life? What is springing forth? How is light coming back into your life (to go along with our ever-brightening time of the year as we come out of the darkness)? Again, I encourage you to try to get to know a young person. Their fresh, new perspectives on life are so valuable to keeping hope in this world that is so filled with fear and suffering (along with joy and love).
Look for the opportunities that are coming to support young people in their endeavors to go on their first mission trips ever! We are heading to Frakes, KY to help families in Appalachia from Friday, June 6-Sunday, June 15. Open up your hearts and your arms to these lovely individuals that are a part of the DNA youth group. You will not regret it!
So much love to you in this new year and I look forward to introducing my hubby to you all!
