Youth News December 2016-February 2017
November has come and gone. We have come from our experience of meeting Emmanuel Jal to learn more about the child soldiers and lost children of Sudan by watching “The Good Lie” starring Emmanuel Jal (and Reese Witherspoon). The young people noted that it is good to connect with and learn about what people are going through in other parts of the world, since Juneau can be a bit isolating. As we head into December and the new year, we send our prayers and meditations toward the people in Sudan, the people involved with the protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline, our nation, and each person—that we may all embody love, hope, joy, and peace.
As the writer of the articles, you won’t be seeing anything from me until March since I’m off to have a baby and become a mother. I wish you all health and happiness in the new year.
