Today we receive a special offering for the Deacon’s Fund. Our Deacons administer a fund that provides assistance for those with emergency needs. To make a contribution to the fund, please use a pew envelope and indicate the amount and designate “Deacon’s Fund.” A check may be made to NLUC with “Deacon’s Fund” noted in the memo line.
Manse Window Project: This coming week (Thursday) we hope to start on the replacement of the windows in the Manse and we could use some strong volunteers to lift the windows in place. To help, please contact Nico Bus 789-3718. We can do it late afternoon or early evening for those people that work during the day a chance to help (and to give the retirees’ back a break ;-). Thanks!
Growing Up – All About Puberty Parent/Daughter Workshop…Tomorrow, 5:30-8:00pm at the Planned Parenthood Health Center, 3231 Glacier Highway. This workshop is specifically designed to enhance family communication about sexuality. This program creates a relaxed and fun, yet professional atmosphere in which educators guide parents and kids through activities that stimulate conversation, clarify family values, establish expectations and provide accurate information about the physical and emotional changes of puberty. This is specifically for parents/guardians and their 10-12 year old daughters. Suggested donation $20/family. Contact Cori at 209-7051 for more information or to register.
We will be cooking and serving chili at the Glory Hole this Tuesday, the 16th. If you can help with groceries, there is a list of groceries needed and sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall. There is also a sign-up sheet to cook and serve at the Glory Hole.
There will be a deep cleaning of our church kitchen June 20, 9 – noon. Come for one, two or three hours to help with a deep cleaning and organizing of the kitchen. Volunteers welcome! Bring your own gloves.
We are again providing lunch for children at the Geneva Woods housing complex in Douglas. This provides essential food not otherwise available since the school lunch program does not run during the summer school break. We serve Monday through Friday until the middle of August. Volunteers help cook, serve, and lead activities. Meal preparation occurs in our church kitchen in the morning and lunch and activities are from 11:30 – 1 at Geneva Woods. Vacation Bible School will be at Aldersgate UMC, 9161 Cinema Drive June 22 – 26, 9:00AM to Noon for ages 3 thru 5th Grade. Call Barb Mitchell at 321-5093 to pre-register or get more information.

We need plastic grocery bags for the weekend lunch program that will resume in the fall and run during the school year. You can give them to Linda McCargar.
Assistive hearing devices are available. Please ask an usher.
Books, crayons and coloring papers for children to use during worship are available in baskets right outside the doors into the sanctuary.
Nursery care is provided for younger children after children’s time (downstairs room across from the women’s restrooms).
Cushions are available at the ushers table for persons with back problems.
