Sunday, March 29 announcements
We are receiving our annual One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) special offering today. OGHS is the cooperative effort of several denominations including the United Methodist and Presbyterian USA churches. OGHS funds provide disaster relief, refugee assistance, and development efforts worldwide.
April’s newsletter deadline is tomorrow. Newsletter assembly will be Thursday at 12:00.
Easter Worship next Sunday will feature music from all three of our singing groups: the Chancel Choir, Tlingit Gospel Singers, and Song for the Journey. We have a tradition of receiving new members on Easter. If you are interested in joining the church or finding out more about church membership, contact Pastor Phil, firstname.lastname@example.org or 586-3131.
On Easter Sunday we will have a special coffee hour after church with Easter breads, hard-boiled eggs (dyed or not), fruit (strawberries, melons, grapes, fresh pineapple). Please bring your contributions ready to serve. Please sign the sheet on the fellowship hall bulletin board to let us know what you are bringing. If you forget to sign up, you can email Judy Morley at email@example.com and she will add you to the list. If you don’t have email, you can call her at 586-4344. Thanks.
Maundy Thursday Service, April 2, 6:30 p.m. We will gather in the Sanctuary for Candle light, communion, readings and Taizé music.
Tonight Youth Group will meet at Northern Light 5:15-7:17 PM
There will be no Youth Group next Sunday ~ Happy Easter!
Youth Group resumes on Sunday, April 12 at Douglas Community UMC.
We are collecting food items to be distributed to students at Riverbend Elementary. This provides weekend food for those who receive free school breakfast and lunch during the week. We could use: single cup mac & cheese, Chef Boyardee, pop-top soup, and dry cereal. If you can donate money, please label it “Weekend food program.” We pack up over 60 food bags on Wednesdays at 10 AM if anyone would like to help. Thank you.
WORD, a Christ-centered retreat for men, will be April 30 – May 3rd. Sponsored by Christ Community Ministries. Registration information is posted on the bulletin board. See John Evans for more information.
